We’re putting the final touches on Salute 2011 and it’s been very exciting so far. Special thanks to “Dr” Bill and Cafe Zack for helping me put together the VIP pairing dinner for Friday night. It’s going to be an amazing evening of awesome food, delicious beer, and great conversation about all things beer. And then on Saturday we get to do it all over again at the Unlimited Tasting Session where you guys get to sample over 100 beers and food from more than 10 different restaurants.

The Salute! brand has become synonymous with the rapidly expanding beer & food pairing trend and is noted as the first large scale event of its type in the California region. The continued partnership between Presenting Sponsors, Ojai Beverage Company and Executive Producer, Thirty-Three Productions, Inc. insures this event to continue its already established first-class quality as a premier food and beverage event, in a class of its own.
Ojai Valley Youth Foundation
Honored last year at the Ojai Valley Chamber of Commerce Gala Awards with the Heart of Ojai Award, the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation was established in 1997. The OVYF involves more than 1,000 youth in a wide-range of programs specifically geared for teens 12 to 18 years of age. Our mission is to connect youth and adults through mentoring and leadership programs, such as BLINC (Building Lives inc.), youth employment services (YES), Oak View Teen Center, daily after school projects, Taco Tuesdays and community service projects.
Annually, we sponsor community-wide events in the Ojai Valley such as the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Community Celebration and Tennis Marathon. And during the summer we have Ripples, a new cultural arts program for teens. We work closely with local civic groups, businesses, junior high and high school administrators to promote critical after-school activities based on the national 40 Developmental Assets model.
